Terms of Use

About this site

This website (msn-globalisation.org) is published by Monitoring Sustainability of Globalisation (MSN), a Malaysian non-governmental organisation operating as MSN Diversified Sdn Bhd. MSN’s work focuses on research, advocacy, and policy commentary on globalisation, labour rights, economic justice, and environmental sustainability.

We make our publications, statements, write-ups, videos, podcasts, and other materials available on this site because we want MSN’s research and voice to be widely shared. These terms explain how you can use what you find here.

What you can do

You are free to download, read, share, quote, and reference any content published on this site for non-commercial purposes, including:

  • Academic research and teaching
  • Journalism and reporting
  • Civil-society advocacy and campaigning
  • Policy briefings and government consultations
  • Personal reading and discussion

You do not need to ask us first for any of the above uses.

What we ask in return — attribution

When you share, quote, or reference MSN’s content, please credit the source. The simplest form is:

Source: Monitoring Sustainability of Globalisation (MSN), msn-globalisation.org

For longer quotations or full-document re-publication, please also include:

  • The title of the original publication
  • The date of publication
  • A direct link to the original page on msn-globalisation.org, where reasonable

If you are translating MSN’s content, please indicate that the translation is your own and that MSN is the source of the original work.

What you cannot do without written consent

The following uses require MSN’s written permission first. Please contact us before doing any of these:

  • Commercial use — for example, including MSN’s content in a product, publication, course, or service that you sell or charge access for
  • Modification that changes the meaning of the original — for example, editing a quote, cutting a paragraph in a way that changes its sense, or combining MSN’s text with other text in a way that misrepresents MSN’s position
  • Republishing the work in full under a different masthead or as if it were your own
  • Use of MSN’s logo, name, or branding in a way that implies MSN endorsement of a person, organisation, product, or campaign that MSN has not publicly endorsed

If you are unsure whether your intended use falls inside or outside what’s permitted above, please ask — we’d rather have a quick conversation than a misunderstanding.

Third-party content

Some of the content on this site links to or republishes material from third parties — for example, press clippings from Malaysian and international news outlets, embedded podcasts and videos from external platforms, and references to publications by partner organisations.

That third-party material remains the copyright of its original publisher. The permissions described above (non-commercial use with attribution) apply to MSN’s own work, not to third-party content republished on this site. If you want to re-use a third-party item, please go to the original source.

No warranty

MSN’s content is provided in good faith and to the best of our knowledge at the time of publication. We do not, however, warrant that every fact, statistic, or interpretation is free of error, nor that the content is up to date with subsequent developments. Readers are encouraged to verify information against primary sources for any decision that depends on accuracy.

External links on this site are provided as a convenience. MSN is not responsible for the content of external sites or for any change to those sites after we link to them.

Changes to these terms

MSN may revise these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a revision means you accept the revised terms.
